What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all the glands, organs and all other parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way – a type of preventative maintenance. By applying specific pressure to these reflex areas, reflexology will promote better health and will help the body to help itself.

What Does Reflexology Do?

Newcomers are sometimes baffled by how simple pressure on specific areas of the feet can eliminate problems. This works because reflexes link each part of the body to a special area of the feet, and the nervous system serves as a connection.

Doctors agree that over 90% of health problems can be linked to nervous stress and tension. When the body is tense, our muscles are tightened, which results in pain. Reflexology reduces stress and relaxes tension, improves nerve and blood supply, promotes the unblocking of nerve impulses, releases energy blockages, encourages the lymphatic system to get rid of toxins, and helps nature achieve homeostasis or balance. By relaxing the body, it will release the natural endorphins (pain killers). This is the key to good health and optimal operation of the bodily function.
